Here are some examples of recent work:
Aklak Air
A mid-size regional
airline, Aklak Air was looking for a complete redesign from
their old image. Aklak was experiencing ever increasing demand
on their customer service personnel, primarily answering requests
that could have, or should have, been answered on their web
site. Beginning with a survey of staff, we were able to identify
the key areas of inquiry and designed the site around those
areas. The resulting site cut calls to their office substantially,
replacing these calls with on-line flight schedule searching,
and booking - all database driven and easily updated as thier
schedules change.
Prince Edward Island Council of the Arts
The Prince Edward
Island Council of the Arts possessed a web site that had become
large an unwieldy with time. The design and code were outdated,
and were not cross-platform compatible, leaving users of some
computers without a source of information. The needs of the
Council were assessed from the perspective of a potential
grant applicant, and every decision was considered in that
light. All documents pertaining to the granting process are
available online, the basic information in HTML and the applications
in PDF format. The new site also provides other important
resources to clients including links to other organizations,
downloads for logos and acknowledgment, and opportunities
for networking through an online discussion forum for Island
artists.

NWT Artists On-line Catalogue
The NWT Artists
site was a collaborative effort between UNSPUN.CA, the Great
Northern Arts Society, and the GNWT. This site is the first
on-line catalogue of artists and artisans in the NWT as is
designed to grow with time. The site is database driven, and
designed to allow artists to do all the registration on their
own. Support is provided for users who are not a familiar
or competent working with computers (common in the NWT). A
single administrator is all that is required to review submissions
before allowing artist submitted content to be available over
the Internet. A complete set of secure Administrative functions
provide complete back-end control, as well as allowing the
GNWT ready access to information required for their programming
needs with database content able to be downloaded straight
to MS Excel.
Great Northern Arts Society
The Great Northern
Arts Festival site was created with dual goals, both to provide
visiting artists with the applications and information they
needed, and to provide potential visitors to the event with
the important information they required in terms of travel,
accommodations, costs, and the event itself. The UNSPUN.CA
version of this web site was noted as a "best practices" example
by Industry Canada as excellent use of technology in the non-profit
sector.
This site is now designed and maintained by the Society.
